Stephen has visited the newly opened HEARTS Unit at Newham Hospital alongside local MPs, James Asser, Uma Kumaran, and Mayor Newham, Forhad Hossain.

During the visit, the group met clinical staff and learned more about the unit's work supporting patients who require specialist rehabilitation and recovery services. The visit provided an opportunity to hear directly from healthcare professionals about the benefits the unit is delivering for local residents and the challenges facing the NHS in East London.

Speaking afterwards, Stephen said "I was delighted to visit the new HEARTS Unit at Newham Hospital and to meet the dedicated staff who are delivering outstanding care for patients across our borough.

“The professionalism, expertise and compassion shown by the team were evident throughout the visit. Services such as the HEARTS Unit play a vital role in helping patients regain their independence and achieve the best possible recovery following illness or injury.

“I would like to thank all the staff for taking the time to show us around the unit and for the remarkable work they do every day on behalf of patients and their families.”
