Stephen has joined Homeless Link’s event in Parliament to celebrate the work of local charities dedicated to ending rough sleeping.

This World Homeless Day is the first since the Prime Minister’s pledge to “end rough sleeping.” At the event, Stephen saw an exhibition of quotes from frontline homelessness support and prevention charities on what they needed from Government to turn that ambition into action.

Stephen also had the chance to hear directly from homelessness charities about the realities they face in their area and what national government can do to address current challenges.

Speaking after the reception, Homeless Link Director of Social Care, Fiona Colley, said: “It was excellent to see a range of politicians from all parts of the country, and from all parties, coming together to hear what homelessness charities need to end rough sleeping.”

“The Prime Minister’s pledge to end rough sleeping sets out much-needed ambition. But to turn that ambition into action, we need to empower those charities to scale up their work to end and prevent homelessness in their communities.”

“We look forward to working with Stephen , politicians at all levels, and our members to deliver our shared mission to end homelessness for good.”
