stephen Urges Government to Act on Infant Formula Shortage in Gaza

Stephen has written to the Foreign Secretary asking what is being done in response to alarming reports that medical-grade infant formula is on the verge of running out in Gaza.

In his letter, Stephen described the situation as a “life-threatening emergency,” stressing that the formula is not optional but essential for the survival of newborns, post-surgical children, and infants with metabolic disorders.

The intervention comes as the Gaza Formula Countdown 2025 campaign launches a 48-hour global awareness effort to mobilise public support and press governments to ensure the urgent delivery of vital supplies.

“No child should suffer or die for lack of basic medical nutrition,” Stephen wrote. “I hope the UK Government, and the international community, will act swiftly and decisively to facilitate the delivery of infant formula into Gaza without delay.”

Stephen is calling on the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office to work with international partners to ensure humanitarian access and prevent further suffering among Gaza’s most vulnerable children.
