Labour MP Stephen Timms has been discharged from the Royal London Hospital.

As he left, Mr Timms declared that he was "well on the mend". He aded: "I am very pleased to be leaving hospital. I am extremely grateful to the hospital and all the doctors and nurses that have helped me over the last few days and have done a great job. 

"I am extremely grateful for the hundreds and hundreds of messages of support and good wishes that I have received."
