Stephen  has visited a project aiming to help young people to manage money.

The Money House programme is based in Ferrier Point, Canning Town, and sees experts teach 16 to 25-year-olds essential finance skills.

Newham Council has made the scheme, run by education charity MyBnk, mandatory for young people who want to bid for social housing.

Speaking afterwards, Stephen said: “I was impressed by the work of MyBnk in preparing young people for independent living. Knowing how to budget, understanding your tenancy, and making informed decisions are vital in tackling the debt and housing crisis.

“The Money House is a valuable resource for Newham. I hope agencies working with vulnerable 16 to 25-year-olds will give their young people this unique opportunity.”
