Stephen has hosted a group of scouts from Newham and Poland at the Houses of Parliament. The two groups were taking part in an international exchange. The exchange, which is now in its second year, was started by Newham Scout Leader, Antony Allan and the leader of the Green Three Scout Group in Krakov, Mikolaj Bialko.

During their time in London the group visited a host of London landmarks, including the Olympic Stadium. Afterwards, they camped overnight on Brownsea island, where the first scout camp was held in 1908, before windsurfing and paddle boarding in Poole, Dorset.

Speaking after the group’s visit to Parliament, Stephen said: “It was fantastic to welcome the group of Scouts to my workplace! Scouting provides a brilliant opportunity for young people from across the world to join together and develop key skills and knowledge, as well as friendships.  It was great to see the cultural exchange in action here in Newham and I hope that the group from Poland enjoyed their time in London."

Anthony Allan, from the Newham Scouts added: “Work is already underway in planning our trip to Poland next year!”
