Last week, Stephen hosted the launch of the NHS Blood and Transplant toolkit for Members of Parliament in the House of Commons.

The purpose of the toolkit is to help MPs encourage constituents from a BAME backgrounds to sign up for organ and blood donation, as they are currently under-represented in the Organ Donor Register. Members of Black and South Asian communities make up 14% of the UK population, but they account for 27% of patients waiting for an organ transplant.

Stephen, along with members of the African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust, helped NHS Blood and Transplant review the toolkit. It contains local statistics, template press releases, example blog posts and ideas for visits and events.
