Earlier today, Stephen visited the Britvic Factory is Beckton. Britvic manufactures many popular soft drinks, including 7UP and Tango.
Stephen was given a tour of the factory. It followed Britvic's announcement that they had decided to reinvest in the facotry to make the production line more efficient. Stephen was also briefed about the company's apprenticeship scheme and was given the chance to meet some of the apprentices themselves.
Speaking afterwards, Stephen said, “I enjoyed my tour of the factory and was delighted to meet some of their young apprentices too.
"Britvic is an important employer in east London. And nationally, they are playing their part too - they are reducing the number of added sugar products in their portfolio and aiming to reduce the calories in them by 20% by 2020. They are an example for many other companies, and I hope their influence in East Ham will be long-lasting!"
