Stephen Timms has been awarded the “Outstanding contribution and support to the British Curry Industry” award at this evening’s Bangladesh Caterers Association (BCA) award ceremony at the Park Plaza hotel in Westminster.
Stephen attended the BCA’s 8th annual awards which celebrated 53 years of British Bangladesh cuisine along with the High Commissioner of Bangladesh, Mohamed Mijarul Quayes and around 1000 guests. The evening was a celebration of Bangladeshi cuisine and culture and was a great success. £2600 was also raised on the night to support victims of the recent Rona Plaza disaster in Bangladesh.
Speaking after receiving his award, Stephen said: “I am honoured to have been recognised in this manner by the Bangladeshi Caterers Association. The association plays an important role in celebrating the contribution of Bangladeshi restauranteurs in the UK and is inspiring a new generation of exciting young chefs. There is much to celebrate in this industry and I hope it will go from strength to strength as Bangladeshi cuisine grows in popularity.”
