Stephen Timms MP has congratulated the students of the London Oriental Academy on another year of academic success. Speaking at an awards ceremony at East Ham Town Hall on Friday 9 November, Mr Timms thanked both staff and students for their hard work. He then presented a number of graduates with their Teacher Training stage 1, 2 and 3 certificates.
The London Oriental Academy is a charity-based educational institution, and was founded in 1996. This year’s graduation ceremony was LOA’s seventh, and the Academy’s staff thanked Mr Timms for his continued support over the years.
The wide range of qualifications awarded included International ESOL certificates, First Diplomas in literacy and numeracy, as well as qualifications in book keeping, computing, and health and social care.
Speaking afterwards, Stephen Timms said: “These students have worked extremely hard to achieve their awards. I congratulate them on their success, and wish them all the best for the future. With so many opportunities ahead in East London, I support initiatives like this which are equipping local people to make the most of them.”
