When Gordon Brown became Prime Minister he appointed six new Vice Chairs of the Labour Party. I was delighted to have been appointed Vice Chair with special responsibility for Faith Groups.
As Vice Chair, it is my responsibility to help develop the Party's links with faith groups. The early Labour Party had deep roots in the Church, and the influence of faith remains with us today. As a Party, we want to engage in a proper dialogue with faith groups because we believe that by working together we can make a real difference in our world.
