Speaking after its publication, the Labour Party's Faith Envoy, Stephen Timms MP said: "I am delighted that we are publishing the 21st edition of Churches Update.
"I am keen to see the Labour Party work with churches. Indeed, Labour MPs often cite local churches as excellent partners in improving their local communities – working with young people, tackling over-indebtedness, helping jobless people into work."
"Our relationship with churches is not about winning votes. We need to work with religious groups because they are a source of values and our natural allies in the fight for justice."
