Stephen Timms, Labour's Faith Envoy, has written an article on faith and politics for the 59th edition of the New Wine magazine. New Wine is a national network of churches seeking to bring about positive change in the UK through empowering a movement of churches.
"Have you ever said that you shouldn't mix faith and politics? Many people take this view, believing that it is asking for trouble. I don't agree. In fact, I take the opposite view; faith is a great starting point for politics. Moreover, faith is the source of the values which make politics work: responsibility, solidarity, patience, compassion, truthfulness and tolerance."
