Working hard for East Ham

   7 April 2006
This morning I began my day with a tour of the newly refurbished Sainsbury's store on East Ham High Street. Later that morning, I jetted off to London City Airport to talk to the airport's directors about the proposals for the airport's expansion. In the afternoon I visited the Tamil Welfare Association, based on Romford Road, who voiced to me their concerns about the treatment of Sri Lankan asylum seekers. I was then interviewed by a Bristol University student who is writing his dissertation on the history of the Labour Party in East London. My day ended with one of my regular surgeries, where I met with constituents at the Beckton Globe.
