This morning I visited Ascension Church in Custom House, where I met with a group of Oxford students who were visting Newham. Later in the day I visited a couple of the social housing projects that Springboard Housing Association runs across the Borough, including a house in Beckton for the elderly. I then went on to Newham General Hospital, where I visited the new St Andrew's Ward, which is currently under construction. Later in the day I was interviewed by a student from the University of East London, who was writing a dissertation on what it means to be British, before ending the day by holding one of my regular constituency surgeries in East Ham.
