I visited Avenue Primary School in Manor Park this morning, and I spoke at the junior school assembly before having a tour of the school. After that I met with Angela Brivett of Diverse magazine. Later in the day Lyn Brown MP and I met with Peter Smith, the secretary of the Newham Teachers' Association, to discuss the measures included in the latest Education Bill. Later in the afternoon I went to Plashet Park and met up with some of the Police Officers from the Safer Neighbourhoods Team for the East Ham North Ward, who were providing members of the public with more information about their work.
